Is integration within the EAEU profitable for business?

In the framework of the VIII Astana Economic Forum was held a thematic section “Business Opportunities in the Eurasian Economic Union”.

As the Deputy Chairman of NCE RK "Atameken" Rakhim Oshakbayev noted, this section is a good opportunity to exchange views and to discuss the practical issues of doing business within the Eurasian integration.

"What does EAEU give to a simple entrepreneur? What are the results of the semi-annual operation of the Eurasian Economic Union? What are the expectations from the further functioning of the EAEU? On these and other questions we will try to find answers today", - announced the topic of the section Deputy Chairman of NCE RK "Atameken ".

According to Rakhim Oshakbaev, with the presence of “a huge market of 182 million consumers and foreign trade turnover of almost 1 trillion dollars (937 billion US dollars) in business, there are great opportunities to attract investment, to create new industries, to promote goods at foreign markets”.

According to members of the Collegium (Minister) for competition and anti-monopoly regulation of EEC Nurlan Aldabergenov, from 1st of January 2015 was created a supranational competition authority of the Eurasian Economic Union, which is responsible for monitoring compliance with the rules of competition at cross-border markets of EAEU.

"The powers of the competition authority include conduction of investigations and the use of other measures of antimonopoly response, including the imposition of fines on violators. EAEU Court was established in Minsk, which is authorized to deal with disputes arising from the implementation of the Treaty and the decisions of the EAEU", - said the representative of the EEC.

According to him, there was adopted all the necessary regulatory framework for the implementation of monitoring on compliance with the general rules of competition at cross-border markets. On May 12, 2015 an agreement on protection of confidential information and responsibility for its disclosure in the implementation of duties by EEC, falling within the scope of monitoring of compliance with uniform rules on competition.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the members of the Collegium (Minister) for competition and anti-monopoly regulation Nurlan Aldabergenova and CEO of NCE RK "Atameken" Ablai Myrzakhmetov created a working group to identify unfair competition, abuse of dominant position at the cross-border markets of EAEU against Kazakhstan entrepreneurs.
