Kazakhstani and Italian businessmen plan joint business cooperation
Issues of development of trade and economic cooperation of Kazakhstan and Italian businessmen were discussed at a conference in Astana with participation of the Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Stefano Ravanyan, Acting chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan Ruslan Sultanov, and business representatives of both parties.
"Today we have a number of Italian manufacturers of products with high added value - it's energy, different types of equipment and food sector. We are also interested in the purchase of high-tech Italian equipment. We also discussed issues of supply of domestic products to Italy. We could be involved in the production process of Italian companies, providing them with semi-finished products ", - said Sultanov to journalists.
Head of the Chamber of Commerce said that, unfortunately, due to the fall in oil prices trade turnover of Kazakhstan with Italy decreased by 45%. At the end of 2015 it was 9.3 billion USD. At the same time 97% of Kazakhstan's export to Italy is oil. "We would like to increase the range of sold products trough integration into production processes of Italian companies and to supply of Kazakh semi-finished products. We will discuss which could it be. I would like our machine builders to take part in the production of passenger cars, our metallurgists to be involved as well. Food and light industries, of course, also have a great potential ", - he added.
According to Sultanov, the Kazakh business is also interested in establishment of joint ventures with Italy in order to deliver the goods for export to third countries. "We are working together to identify businesses that are willing to cooperate. There is interest of the Kazakhstani furniture companies. Food and textile industries also have the potential for this, "- he said.
Present at the conference Italian companies and representative made a brief presentation on their activities. The Chamber of Commerce of the city of Frosinone and JSC "National Agency for Export and Investment “KAZNEX INVEST” signed a Memorandum of Understanding on International Cooperation.
Also during the conference, Kazakhstani and Italian businessmen discussed the possible cooperation in the B2B format.
Tomorrow, the Italian companies will visit the free economic zone "Astana".
