Kazakhstani Weapon Association "Koramsak" supports the need to strengthen the security requirements for the protection of stores for selling weapons

Sergey Katnov, vice president of the Weapon Association, which is accredited at NCE RK "Atameken", believes that it is necessary to consider issues of strengthening security, more stringent requirements for the protection of gun shops, granting a seller the right to carry a weapon while on duty.

However, as it was noted in the Kazakhstani Weapon Association "Koramsak", the adoption of a total ban on arms sales could negatively affect the activity of entrepreneurs engaged in the arms business.

"Gun shops - are legitimate companies that operate in strict accordance with the legislation of Kazakhstan, and gun owners must undergo a special inspection, medical screening for mental health, addiction to alcohol and drugs, and only then get permission from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the acquisition of weapons", - commented Sergey Katnov. However, he stressed that the arms business, as well as other types of businesses, promote the growth of the economy, revenue to the budget and employment.

"Today, about 85 companies have the license for sale of civilian and service weapons, which employ more than 2 thousand people. Thus, the closure of stores will lead to increased social tensions in a crisis situation", - said Vice President of the Kazakhstani Weapon Association.

In addition, according to the Weapon Association "Koramsak", a total ban on arms business provokes the appearance of illegal immigrants and the "black market" of weapons.

Aa number of public figures, express their opinion about the tragic events in Aktobe, coming with the initiative to close stores for sales of arms in Kazakhstan.
