Bolat Palymbetov: More than 600 businessmen returned to the economy of the country
The First Business Protection Forum gave results
At the II Forum on Business Protection "Supervision of the Prosecutor's Office in the Sphere of Entrepreneurship", Bolat Palymbetov, the Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneur Rights, spoke about the state of business in the country.
"The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to strengthen work on the humanization of criminal legislation, including the decriminalization of economic violations. Since last year we have been focusing on this direction. Our main task was to free businessmen convicted of economic crimes. At the end of 2016, an amnesty was held, as a result of which more than 600 businessmen were returned to the economic activity of the country", - Bolat Palymbetov said.
The business ombudsman also noted the established work with law enforcement agencies. Which is proved by the results of last year's first Forum on the Protection of Business.
As a result, the number of criminal cases on economic offenses for the year has been reduced by 80%, from the initial figure of 7 863 cases, to 1393 now. Let us also recall the exclusion of Article 215 from the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan - "False entrepreneurship" as a criminal offense.
As for the Roadmap for Business Protection, approved at the I-Forum in July 2016, 118 out of 140 planned events have been completed, 22 are in operation. As the speaker noted, work in this direction continues.
