Expansion and diversification of trade and investment opportunities between the US and Central Asia

Within the framework of the TIFA on 13th of December 2017 will be held a business forum in Almaty. The event will serve as a platform for discussion of issues to address regional trade issues that impede intraregional trade and economic development and can serve as barriers to investment. Also, there will be a presentation of the representative of the United States Chamber of Commerce to America on the general system of US preferences for developing countries. In the period from 11th of December to 13th of December 2017, the next meeting of the working groups of the Council on the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (hereinafter - TIFA) will be held.

The Trade and Investment Framework Agreement was signed in June 2006 between the Central Asian countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the United States of America, with the aim of expanding and diversifying trade and investment opportunities between the United States and Central Asia. Within the framework of the TIFA on 13th of December 2017 at 9:00 a business forum will be held at the address: Satpayev, 29/6, hotel "RahatPalace", hall "Zhambyl". During the business forum, it is planned to discuss issues to address regional trade issues that impede intraregional trade, economic development and can serve as barriers to investment.

Also, there will be a presentation of the general system of preferences for developing countries, provided by the United States of America. The event will serve as a platform for assistance in establishing an attractive investment climate and expanding trade in goods and services between the participating countries, as well as providing an enabling environment for long-term development and diversification of trade.
