BUSINESS OMBUDSMAN SOLVES THE PROBLEM OF TRANSPORT OPERATORS
Bolat Palimbetov, the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, will apply to the court to cancel taxation of additional charges to transport operators.
This information became known yesterday, during the visit of the business ombudsman to Ust-Kamenogorsk, where he met with the leaders of four public transport operators serving urban routes. Those are ATC BEST LLP, Vebas LLP, Voska LLP, Rost LLP.
We recall that the problems of operators began in 2016, when the Department of National Revenues of East Kazakhstan region made tax additional charges on the results of audits, which now reached nearly 5 billion tenge including late charges. The Chamber of Entrepreneurs of EKR consider that additional charges were made illegally. Now it is becoming more difficult to carry out passenger transportation in relation to huge debts, the heads of large enterprises of Ust-Kamenogorsk say. They do not exclude that because of the resulting financial problems, they have to rely on optimization with the restriction of traffic during the hours of the least activity.
Note that due to high state duties they did not have the opportunity to apply to the court. As a result, the claim to the court to cancel the taxation of additional charges was filed by the prosecutor of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, but the court decided that the representative of the supervisory authority does not have the authority to do so. Now business ombudsman of Kazakhstan intends to protect entrepreneurs' rights.
"According to the law, I am endowed with such powers. I specially arrived today, to avoid any excesses tomorrow. We want everything to be within the legal framework. Tomorrow I file a lawsuit in court," - Bolat Palimbetov said.
He also noted that the problem of passenger transportation concerns all regions of the country and it is now actively discussed at the republican level.
"We hope that the forced measures taken by the operators of Ust-Kamenogorsk will be temporary," - said Igor Shatsky, director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the East Kazakhstan region.
