New regulation in the chemical industry - the next stage of rapprochement within the EEU
11 and 12 July at the site of the NCE RK "Atameken", a regular meeting of the expert working group was held to discuss the procedure for the formation and maintenance of the register of chemicals and mixtures of the Eurasian Economic Union and the procedure for determining new chemicals.
The discussion was attended by representatives of domestic and foreign business, government agencies, as well as the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union "On the Safety of Chemical Products" shall enter into force on June 2, 2021 subject to the approval of documents of the second level.
After welcoming the participants, Acting Deputy Chairman of the Board of the NCE RK "Atameken", Kuanysh Baltabayev, noted that the effective functioning of the technical regulations depends on the fruitful work of the expert group.
During the meeting, representatives of the Kazakh business expressed their main proposals. They are based on international experience and consist in eliminating the need to register mixtures and introduction of thresholds for the registration of chemicals.
NCE RK "Atameken" believes that these proposals will make the procedure for registration of chemicals more accessible and feasible both by business and government agencies.
The adoption of such proposals will require the introduction of changes to the technical regulations of the EEU "On the Safety of Chemical Products". National Chamber will continue to work in this direction.
