MFA RK AND KAZENERGY HELD "INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES: NEW SOLUTIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT" BRIEFING
"Investment Opportunities: New Solutions for Sustainable Development" for representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in the Republic of Kazakhstan
On July 26, a joint briefing "Investment Opportunities: New Solutions for Sustainable Development" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the KAZENERGY Association was held.
Olzhas Isabekov, Director of the Foreign Economic Policy Department of the MFA RK, Aset Magauov, Director General of the KAZENERGY Association, Arman Satimov, Adviser to the Chairman of KAZENERGY and Talgat Karashev, Executive Director for International Cooperation of the Association KAZENERGY, as well as representatives of more than 60 foreign missions in the Republic of Kazakhstan participated in the event.
The meeting discussed issues of the current situation in the oil and gas and energy sectors of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the activity of the KAZENERGY Association, participation in the work of international organizations, as well as the organization of international events, including the XII Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY and the World Petroleum Council (October 1-3, 2018). Addressing the audience, Aset Magauov noted the importance of creating flexible, and, most importantly, attractive conditions for the inflow of new investments. He told about the work carried out related to the actualization of the legislative base for subsoil users, which resulted in the new Code on Subsoil and Subsoil Use and the Tax Code.
Also during the subsequent discussion, he spoke about upcoming important initiatives, which include the development of the Environmental Code and measures to stimulate and improve the oil products market.
Talgat Karashev, Executive Director of the Association, made a report on KAZENERGY's participation in the work of international organizations and holding international events. According to him, the meeting of the World Petroleum Council (hereinafter referred to as "WPC") will take place from 1 to 3 October 2018 in Astana, with the participation of the heads of delegations of the national committees of the WPC member countries from the heads of sectoral ministries, the heads of energy companies and large associations.
In addition, all attendees were invited to a conference on the topic: "Investment Opportunities: New Challenges for Stable Growth", scheduled for October 2 in the framework of the meeting of the WPS. This conference will be organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the KAZENERGY Association. Karashev stressed that the international conference is designed to attract the attention of the international community and increase the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan's oil and gas and energy industries.
Adviser to the Chairman of KAZENERGY Arman Satimov, in his turn, proposed to develop cooperation between the Association members and trade, commercial departments of embassies and corps of international organizations, including those on the basis of the Scientific and Technical Council of KAZENERGY. He pointed out that this would promote the growth of trade turnover between the countries.
At the end of the meeting, participants asked direct questions and discussed ways to further development of mutually beneficial partnership between countries.
