NEW LEADER OF THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS' ASSOCIATION OF KAZAKHSTAN
At the annual general meeting of the Financial Institutions' Association Of Kazakhstan (FIA), Yelena Bakhmutova was unanimously elected to the post of chairman of the FIA Council, reports www.afk.kz
In connection with the division of powers of the acting chairman of the FIA Council and Deputy Chairman of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken", the FIA Council approved and submitted early termination of Yulia Yakupbaeva's authority to the general meeting. Yulia Konstantinovna will continue to cooperate with the financial sector as Deputy Chairman of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken".
"I want to express my deep gratitude to Yulia Konstantinovna for her significant contribution to the development of the financial sector of the country in a difficult period, ensuring effective and fruitful interaction between the members of the association and state bodies," - Anvar Saidenov, member of the FIA Council, expressed the common opinion.
"I welcome the election of the new head of the FIA. Yelena Leonidovna's professionalism, which worked at the ground zero of banking and financial supervision, as well as her understanding of the current problems of the sector, meets the challenges that the financial sector of the country is facing today. Her experience and authority will undoubtedly strengthen the opportunities and role of the Association," - Umut Shayakhmetova, Chairman of the Board of HalykBank, Chairman of the Financial Sector Committee of the Presidium of the NCE RK "Atameken", commented on the decision of the general meeting.
At the meeting, a report on the results of the work of the Association for the reported period was also reviewed and approved.
The Financial Institution's Association consolidates the interests of the financial sector of the country; it includes about 160 organizations such as banks, insurance companies, professional participants in the securities market, leasing companies, microfinance organizations, audit and consulting companies, and others. FIA is accredited by the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Economy, and is also an accredited association to the "Atameken".

Bakhmutova Yelena Leonidovna was born in 1962. She graduated from the Alma-Ata Institute of National Economy (NarKhoz), majoring in economics in 1983. She worked in various positions in state and commercial structures, including the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2001 she became Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2002, she headed the Department of Financial Supervision of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2004, she assumed the post of Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Regulation of Financial Market and Financial Organizations, later headed it.
In 2012, she moved to work at Samruk-Kazyna JSC, held the posts of Deputy Chairman of the Board and Managing Director for Finance and Operations. Since 2016, she headed the Social Insurance Fund JSC as the Chairman of the Board.
Worked as a member of the Board of Directors of GNPF ZAO; later she became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazpost JSC.
She was awarded orders and medals for her merits in state and public activities, including the "Parasat" and "Kurmet" orders, "10 years of Astana", "20 years of Astana" and "10 years of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan" medals, as well as by the letter of acknowledgement of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
