Kuanish Bishimov - engineering enterprises of Kazakhstan are actively involved in the localization process
The 6th Forum of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan was held in Astana
On the first day of the forum, within the framework of 7 sections, issues of development of domestic engineering sectors were discussed. A separate section was devoted to oil and gas engineering, which was moderated by Kuanysh Bishimov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the NCE RK "Atameken".
The forum was organized by the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry with the support of the NCE RK "Atameken" and "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC NWF.
Atameken is involved in the development of oil and gas engineering from its very founding, as Kuanysh Bishimov noted in the welcoming speech.
"The development of this sector contributes to the close attention of government agencies represented by the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Investment and Development, national companies and our major foreign partners. We see the dynamics of the development of the industry as a whole," - the Member of the Board said.
For the first time, the industry achieved production volume of about 1 trillion tenge as a result of 2017. Kuanysh Bishimov noted that this is a good impetus for the further development of engineering in Kazakhstan.
"It is gratifying that much attention is paid to local content. This indicates that our enterprises are now actively involved in the localization process. Dozens of new enterprises have been created, both domestic and with a share of foreign investment. The import of engineering products amounted to almost 11 billion dollars in 2017, 10% of which falls on oil and gas engineering. This is the potential for the development," - Kuanysh Bishimov said.
Atameken is actively involved in the development of domestic producers and increasing their competitiveness. This vector is maintained during the consideration of draft normative legal acts and in the discussion of problematic issues.
Within two days, the forum participants will discuss the problems of machine building. Today, the industry faces a number of problems, for example, technical modernization, certification issues, participation in procurement, improvement of regulations. The main question remains, how to develop the industry, what is needed to be done to increase the volume of domestic production.
Within the framework of the Forum, a draft comprehensive plan for the development of the engineering industry of Kazakhstan for 2019-2030 will be presented.
