Business offers to expand list of activities and reduce gray import

The weekly meeting of the Project Office of the Economy of simple things was held at the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan chaired by chairman of the Board of the Atameken Ablay Myrzakhmetov and minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar.

The meeting was opened with consideration of problematic issues of business. This is the introduction of guarantees and financing the replenishment of working capital up to 50 per cent of the volume of funds provided by banks, as well as the definition of the term “border areas”. The issue of introducing changes to the order of the Ministry of Agriculture, stipulating the procedure and criteria for conducting industry expertise on projects worth over 500 million tenge in the sphere of production and processing in the agro-industrial complex, is relevant.

Within the framework of the Economy of simple things program, it was proposed to expand the areas of development of the tourist industry and involve the program of Turkestan region, Zerenda district of Akmola region and coastal zones of the Tobol river of Kostanay region. The proposal was supported by the participants and the Ministry of Culture and Sports will send it to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In addition, it was noted that only three positions were included in the list of the socially important food products for the development of the industry at the meeting.

“Such important areas for business as the production of souvenirs, handicrafts, rental of sports equipment, amusement parks and recreation are not included in the list. I consider that it is necessary to consider this issue,” vice-minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Yerlan Kozhagapanov said.

“Entrepreneurs are applying to the Project offices with proposals for expanding the list of the socially important food products. If the tourism industry has a sufficient number of applications, I think that the ministries and KIDI will agree to consider their inclusion,” Ablay Myrzakhmetov said.

In addition to financing issues, the experts discussed problems of selling light industry products and reducing imports of gray, unsafe products. In particular, manufacturers of school uniforms propose to establish a mandatory requirement for the application of the national standard, by including it in the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan. This will allow domestic companies not only to raise the quality of the manufactured uniform, but also to develop new markets.

In general, the low workload of Kazakhstani producers due to the lack of a guaranteed sales market has been discussed at the meeting.

“Government agencies and the MIID of RK can provide assistance to domestic companies with regulated procurement,” Ablay Myrzakhmetov said.

As of today 300 entrepreneurs have already submitted applications to the Project Office of the Economy of simple things to obtain concessional loans.

Remind that this year, on the instructions of Elbasy, the Government of Kazakhstan allocated 600 billion tenge to support the production of consumer goods, as well as raw materials and primary products. In particular, the funds will be directed to the development and support of the manufacturing industry and agro-industrial complex.
