Business needs stability
Representatives of large, medium and small business from all regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan have expressed their opinion about the early presidential elections at the expanded meeting of the Board of the Atameken NCE RK.
The entrepreneurs expect from the upcoming elections stability, which is the guarantor of a favorable business climate in Kazakhstan.
According to the General Director of Almaty Heavy Machine Building Plant Zhetpisbay Edigenov, it makes no sense to delay the presidential election.
“As for me, a person who is engaged in a real business, the election is very important. Anyone knows that stability in the country is essential. Especially, if we are talking about a large and multinational state as our Kazakhstan is. We, businessmen, support the decision to hold the extraordinary election,” Zhetpisbay Edigenov said.
Asen Zhaksylykov, director of Gormolzavod LLP, chairman of the Regional Council of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Akmola region, believes the upcoming elections should become a certain guarantor in relations with business partners.
“Our foreign partners are interested in the political situation in the republic. Everyone needs a guarantee. The sooner we set the economic course, the less anyone would ask the proper questions, and we will be more confiden t. The election will give us clarity,” Asen Zhaksylykov said.
Director of SemAZ LLP Asemkhan Duskuzhanov stressed the importance of retaining investment appeal for large market players.
“The issue of elections is very relevant, because it is extremely important for us to retain investment attractiveness. Enterprises of East Kazakhstan support the initiative of holding the early election,” Asemkhan Duskuzhanov said.
Aigul Akchalova, chairperson of the Business Women’s Council of Zhambyl Oblast, spoke on behalf of three industry associations: sewing, restaurants and hotels and outbound tourism. Her colleagues support the holding of early elections, since they will have "clear and transparent rules of the game and the opportunity to develop perspective plan of work”. Ryskul Demeubaeva, co-founder of the Aktau Association of Artisans, has shared this opinion.
"What we need is to work in a calm and stable economic environment. I believe that elections must give results that provide favorable certainty. Then we will be able to look ahead, develop plans, implement new business ideas,” Ryskul Demeubayeva emphasized.
Yessimkhan Kurmangazin, president of the Kokzhar Agro-Industrial Commodity Exchange, Kairat Moldaseitov, president of Otau Stroy Holding, Vladimir Bogdanov, director general of Bars-Nord LLP and others also have supported decision on setting the extraordinary election. Almost everyone agreed that the upcoming early election is a timely initiative that will positively affect the development of business in the country.
“It is important for the Atameken to hear the opinions of local entrepreneurs, and I appreciate your active position. Kazakhstan should move in a verified strategic course of economic modernization, socio-economic well-being, peace and stability. And business needs stability and confidence. It is essential for business to have predictable economic conditions in the state,” Ablay Myrzakhmetov, chairman of the Board of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, said.
