World Bank reviews reforms of Kazakhstan on improving conditions for entrepreneurship

The delegation of Kazakhstan has presented the ongoing reforms in the country to improve the conditions for the development of entrepreneurship in the office of the World Bank in Washington.

Managing Director Yerbol Ustemirov has presented Atameken and Kazakhstan’s business position.

Remind that the Government and Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs conducted large-scale joint work to improve legislation in the field of entrepreneurial activity.

An objective external assessment of this work is the World Bank’s Doing Business ranking, which determines ease of doing business in the country.

The joint work has given good results in this ranking. Kazakhstan jumped 8 positions to claim a place among the world’s top 30 economies in ease of doing business, according to the latest rankings of the World Bank Group’s Doing Business 2019 report. Kazakhstan ranked 28th place this year. 

Atameken NCE RK is actively involved in this work. The Chamber works out jointly with the Government the recommendations of international experts, forms a consolidated position of the business community, organizes meetings and discussions, makes efforts to  sensitize businessmen on the reforms being carried out in Kazakhstan.

According to the results of the joint work on improving conditions for entrepreneurship, the reforms in Kazakhstan were implemented across the following indicators of the Doing Business ranking:

opening of enterprises;

connecting to the power supply system;

obtaining a building permit;

international trade;

getting loans;

protecting minority investors.
