On June 25-26, 2019, the Trade and Economic Mission of Kazakhstani commodity producers will be held in the Afghan capital Kabul. The purpose of the event is the development of business relations between Kazakhstani and Afghan entrepreneurs.

Head of the purchase group of Aktobe rail and beam plant Yerbol Mergenov will be among the participants of the Kazakh delegation. His company manufactures unique, differentially strengthened, high-quality and medium-sized railroad rails in Kazakhstan. Last year, Yerbol Mergenov for the first time presented the plant in Kabul as part of the Trade and Economic Mission. Then he managed to conclude a major contract for the supply of rails.

“If earlier, Afghanistan had an underdeveloped transport system; today things are better in the country thanks to the construction of new railway lines. New roads are built there with a gauge width of 1520 mm. We produce rails R65, it is just the type required for such a track. Last year we signed a contract with the Afghanistan Railway Authority and in the winter of this year we shipped them rails in the amount of 330,888 tonnes,” he said.

This year, Yerbol Mergenov will present his company to a larger audience of Afghan entrepreneurs and conclude long-term supply contracts. More than ten other Kazakhstani exporters will take part in the Trade and Economic Mission: representatives of the food, chemical, woodworking, heavy industries. Each company plans to negotiate with potential partners and conclude contracts for the supply of its products to Afghanistan.

The organizers of the trade and economic mission are Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, together Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
