Timur Kulibayev: Food processing and storage system will help to avoid seasonal price fluctuations
The Chairman of the Presidium of the Atameken NCE RK Timur Kulibayev expressed this opinion during the VI annual conference of entrepreneurs with the participation of the Akim of Nur-Sultan Altay Kulginov.
"The capital is surrounded by many domestic agricultural enterprises. At the same time, there are no places in the capital for processing, storage of the local products. Therefore, the Social entrepreneurship corporations together with entrepreneurs should take into account this issue: they should construct the wholesale distribution centers and places for processing and long-term storage of these agricultural products," Timur Kulibayev said.
He cited the experience of Russia, it has had an effective storage system since Soviet times. During the harvest season, they take away this food in lorries and regulate prices due to the long-term storage of food, avoiding seasonal fluctuations.
"We will insist on opening agricultural competence centers in the regions that are located close to the capital/ These processing and storage points will help to avoid seasonal price differences. We will develop and produce the necessary products for the capital. We have enough resources for this: water, land, and specialists. We need to take this issue under control and coordinate work with the capital's akimat," Timur Kulibayev added.
Then, Timur Kulibayev spoke about the support of domestic producers through long-term contracts with state and quasi-state bodies.
"With the support of our manufacturers, it is very important to create a single procurement window, which will include all national companies, to avoid significant price differences between purchases of similar products. In public procurement, the difference sometimes reaches 30%. We need to ensure that all purchases are made by domestic producers. We are now working on the issues of the Economy of simple things project. We will systematically support those who produce or intend to produce, participate in procurement for long-term contracts," Timur Kulibayev assured.
