Experts discussed social entrepreneurship issues in Atameken
There is a great potential for opening a social business and creating social enterprises, applying different models of interaction between business and nonprofit organizations.
At the same time, social enterprises can have different legal statuses and operate in different spheres of economic and social life: preschool education, social services, culture, sports and recreation, financing, public infrastructure, ecology, and much more.
The participants discussed these issues during the meeting of the Committee for Human Capital Development and Social Policy of Business under the Presidium of the Atameken NCE RK. The meeting was held with the participation of social entrepreneurs, representatives of the Ministries of Labor and Social Protection, Information and Social Development, national economy, and scientific environment.
Chairman of the Committee Talgat Doskenov noted that every year the interest in social entrepreneurship is growing in Kazakhstan.
"The number of social entrepreneurs and their social activity is growing in Kazakhstan. According to informal estimates, their number is about 500. There are social entrepreneurs in the country (Emin Askerov's Green Tal social workshop), projects are being implemented at the expense of grants from Kazakh funds (Samruk-Kazyna Trust Foundation) and with the technical assistance of international partners (British Council, Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia), Asar trilateral forum has been created as a platform to discuss issues of social entrepreneurship, scientific base is also being developed," he noted.
The participants also expressed the problems associated with the legislative definition, the lack of financial and non-financial support for this category of entrepreneurs. Thus, Ph.D. in Economics, author of scientific articles and researches on social entrepreneurship T.P. Pritvorova, head of the Green Tal social workshop E. Askerov, director of social entrepreneurship programs of the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia A.Tagatova and invited social entrepreneurs made speeches.
Following the results of the Committee's meeting it was approved the consideration of issues such as the introduction of the concept of social entrepreneurship, the introduction of its certification, the creation of a website for social entrepreneurs on the basis of the platform of the Menin Atamekenim NGO, the development of criteria and development of the Register of Social Entrepreneurs and Enterprises in the NCE RK, the creation of the brand "Made by social entrepreneurs (enterprises) of Kazakhstan" for producers, etc.
Besides, it was decided to create subcommittees of social policy of business, social entrepreneurship, business education, social and labor relations, Worldskills corporate movement, private preschool, and secondary education to make the activity more efficient.
