The delegation of the Atameken NCE RK and regional administration visited the Alfarukh Logistics Center and YDD Corporation Ferroalloy Plant.

The Alfarukh Logistics became the first project in the Karaganda region, which was approved under the program of preferential financing under the Economy of simple things programme and received a loan of 2 billion tenge. It is the largest transport and logistics center in Kazakhstan with 300 new jobs. The territory consists of warehouses with an area of up to 72 thousand square meters, which provides for the modification, packing, storage, transportation, and sale of agricultural products. It also provides for the maintenance of the republic's road and rail freight traffic and the regional distribution of goods.

Timur Kulibayev noted that the main benefit will be the reduction of prices for products for consumers and the creation of conditions for the export of domestic agricultural products.

"Such centers should be located all over the country. Through processing and long-term storage of foodstuffs, prices can be regulated, avoiding significant seasonal fluctuations. We have enough resources for this: water, land, and specialists. The Atameken supports such projects, they are under control and the regional akimats should coordinate the work in this direction," he said.

The delegation visited the new automated ferroalloy plant. Its production is a completely new level of Kazakhstani industry with foreign participation of a European investor - more than $94 million. The main type of product is high-quality ferrosilicon.

The project is innovative in the field of metallurgy. The production capacity of the plant at the launch of the plant amounted to 180,000 tonnes of high-quality products per year, and with the implementation of the second phase of production expansion in 2020, the capacity of the plant will increase to 240 thousand tonnes. The number of jobs will increase from 350 to 550 specialists. The main volume of ferrosilicon is planned to be exported to Russia, Turkey, South Korea, USA, and European Union countries.

"I know that the management of the plant plans to provide the work of graduates of specialized universities in Karaganda and other regions of the country. Thus, the site of the plant will become a center for training the metallurgical and ferroalloy personnel, where our young specialists will be able to adopt the world experience," Timur Kulibayev said.
