Atameken proposed to review law “On LLP”
Nur-Sultan hosted the Kazakhstan Corporate Lawyers Forum, which brought together representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Court, the Kazakhstan Bar Association, leading law firms and large business entities.
By the way, the forum is held in the capital for the first time, and Almaty has been the main dialogue platform for corporate lawyers and the public sector for 14 years. Atameken has been a co-organizer and active participant of the Forum, all panel sessions and industry discussions for 6 years.
The key topic of the Forum was the improvement of corporate legislation, corporate governance, as well as the implementation of the English law institutions.
Rustam Zhursunov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, who acted as a moderator of one of the sessions, noted that today not only issues are important, but also the thoughtful and cautious use of foreign experience, its careful analysis not only from the point of view of the norms themselves but also from the point of view of accompanying such norms of judicial practice and scientific developments.
Also, Rustam Zhursunov noted the long-overdue issue of developing new law on limited liability partnerships, taking into account the experience of developed foreign countries.
In the course of the meeting the participants raised the issues of further improvement of the corporate legislation, the main provisions of the draft law being developed by the Ministry of Justice on the issues of improvement of the civil legislation and improvement of the business environment on the basis of implementation of the principles and provisions of the English and European law. Maxim Telemtaev, a partner at White & Case International Law Firm, shared the experience of the Russian Federation in implementing English law.
The work of the Forum will be continued by the industry sections "Construction and Public Utilities", "Subsoil Use", "Practical Cases of Litigation and Arbitration Disputes", and at the end of the Forum the participants will have a master class "Leadership based on Emotional Intelligence".
