Kazakhstan launches accepting applications for digital products with biometric identification
Kazakhstan has launched an ID Challenge competition for developers of mobile applications and web services, startup teams, SMEs and product teams of large companies. It will be held from 26 November to 19 December 2019. The prize fund is 1 million tenge and marketing support of the developed product. The organizers of the competition are BTS Digital, Finnovate and Digital ID contest.
The goal of the contest is to gather a team of developers and create a digital product that solves the problems of business and users with the help of biometric identification technologies. The goals of the product can be different: verification of the identity of the interlocutor, automatic filling in of personal data when issuing tickets, online purchase without sending scanned documents by e-mail or any other, developing ideas of remote identification.
Existing teams or several people with the same idea can take part in the competition. A team may be located in Kazakhstan and abroad, but the product should be targeted to the residents of Kazakhstan.
The main condition is to create your own product using Digital ID technology, a remote customer identification service developed in Kazakhstan.
According to the results of the contest, there will be three winners. The first prize winners will receive 500, 000 tenge, for the second and third place the participants will get 300,000 and 200,000 tenge, respectively. The total prize fund is 1 million tenge. In addition, the winners will receive an annual license for unlimited use of Digital ID, marketing support for developed products from BTS Digital and BTS Education, mentorship from employees of BTS Digital, BTS Education and Finnovate, as well as the opportunity to speak at Product Mindset Meetup.
"Biometric identification conquers the world and makes online relationships more trustworthy. We want to support this trend in Kazakhstan. Identify in 60 seconds is the slogan we chose for the competition. Approximately as long as it takes for a user to pass the initial identification, confirm their identity and provide their partner with personal data via Digital ID. I hope we will see products at the contest that will be truly useful to users," Vladimir Merkushev, the product manager, said.
The set for participation in the contest is already open. Applications are accepted until December 9, 2019.
Detailed information about the contest and the application form are available on the project website.
