The French are interested in a business partnership with the South Kazakhstan
The delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Kazakhstan Francis Etienne visited Shymkent
At the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of South Kazakhstan region the guests met with the South Kazakhstan businessmen.
The Ambassador said that the purpose of the visit – is to discuss the prospects of development of mutually beneficial partnership between French and South Kazakhstan business and establish a close relationship.
Francis Etienne said that the South-Kazakhstan region is very interesting for French business, and that different specialists and experts from France arrived with him for the implementation of joint projects in South Kazakhstan and establishing closer relations.
According to the French diplomat, Kazakhstan is among the top 20 largest partners of France, and this country already has a multi-faceted co-operation with Kazakhstan business in different directions. In March of this year in Kazakhstan opened a new institution - the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of France-Kazakhstan established for an effective dialogue between business of the two countries.
Director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of South Kazakhstan region Askar Abubakirov told about the activities of NCE RK "Atameken", aims and objectives of the organization, the region's business climate, and expressed readiness to assist in the implementation of joint projects, and invited French companies to explore opportunities to establish contacts with the South Kazakhstan businessmen. He assured that if necessary, the Chamber is ready to act as the organizer of the meeting with French companies.
The Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC SEC" Shymkent "Talgat Alpysbaeva told the guests about further possibilities of SKR and development prospects in the region. He informed the Ambassador about the investment potential of the region. He stopped on the priorities of economic development of South Kazakhstan: it is agriculture, processing industry, uranium mining, petrochemical and construction industries. South Kazakhstan region has great potential in the development of textile and light industry.
The representatives of the embassy of France learned from local businessmen that our region is capable of delivering to France a wide range of products ranging from agricultural and ending with nuclear products, such as radioisotopes.
French businessmen got acquainted with the products of the already existing joint venture in Astana for the production of helicopters "Eurocopter Kazakhstan", which is part of the National Company "Kazakhstan Engineering". The company's light twin-engine helicopters are ideal for the needs of ambulance and rescue services, the police, border surveillance, the tourism industry.
The parties exchanged contact information and expressed a mutual desire to establish a useful and mutually beneficial cooperation in the future.
The first result of the meeting was the fact that an agreement was reached on the opening of the French trading house of technologies in SKR. In addition, the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of SKR send to the French side the investment projects.
The Ambassador assured that in February next year he will come again to Shymkent, but with concrete proposals.
