Kazakh-Chinese trade cooperation gets stronger: the parties agree to improve the efficiency
Economic cooperation between China and Kazakhstan plays an important role in the development of the entire Central Asian region, as in the past two decades, cross-border cooperation between Kazakhstan and China has become one of the most important and effective forms of implementation of economic and trade cooperation, a factor of stability on the border, a source of increase of living standards of the two states.
On July 15 the International Center of Boundary Cooperation "Khorgos" hosted a forum dedicated to the creation of the Business Council. It was organized by the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Almaty region in cooperation with JSC ICBC "Khorgos" with the support of Akimat of Panfilov district from the Kazakh side and the People's Government of the city of Khorgos, the Administrative Committee of SEZ Khorgos, with the assistance of the trade exhibition center "Dongfang Tszinsyu" from the Chinese side.
The decision on establishment of the Business Council was made earlier during a meeting with the Consul General of China in Kazakhstan Mr. Zhang Wei. During the forum, Kazakh and Chinese businessmen shared their experiences, that was the beginning of interaction of domestic and Chinese companies at the territory of ICBC KHORGOS and beyond its borders.
Representatives of the two sides discussed the projects, which will be organized in the two countries, as well as the priorities of the areas and cooperation procedures at the border area.
The developed infrastructure of ICBC Khorgos proves that on its territory there have been implemented a large number of joint projects. However, this does not exclude the possibility for a variety of other projects for further expansion of trade and economic opportunities for both countries. According to forum participants, modern tools of support of Kazakh - Chinese goods and services ate the market, can attract entrepreneurs from neighboring states.
- The format of the Forum allowed participants to provide more information about the possibilities of interaction in the restoration of trade along the Silk Road. Representatives of the Chinese side, headed by People's Government of the city of Khorgos, also viewed the investment projects, presented by the Kazakh side - said one of the organizers of the forum Zarina Zhanserkeeva.
In the afternoon, participants and delegates were able to visit ICBC "Khorgos", on the territory of which the fair was held. There was also presented retail space for Kazakh entrepreneurs, which the Chinese side provided on concessional terms.
The agreements reached during this visit will certainly give a strong impetus to further development of bilateral cooperation and open a new page in relations between China and Kazakhstan.
