The Ministry of National Economy intends to consult with NCE RK "Atameken" regarding the VAT issue
The Government of Kazakhstan decided to temporarily preserve the discussion on the probable replacement of VAT with a sales tax. The Minister of National Economy Erbolat Dosayev announced the results of the mini-session at a briefing at the service of Central Communications. "The introduction of the sales tax or the issue of retail tax for trade and catering enterprises, will be considered in 2016. There is a corresponding order, we work together with the business and with our consultants on the formation of the new policy ", - said the minister. The following changes to the Tax Code will be introduced in 2016, in connection with what Erbolat Dosayev noted that talking about the fact that this tax is advantageous or disadvantageous is "too early" for the business. The head of the Ministry of Economy assured that the discussion of the topic of the sales tax will be held on all possible platforms, including regional.
Mr. Dosayev voiced another curious position on VAT and invoices. The minister is convinced that taxpayers who use or receive VAT invoices "in principle” should be subject to VAT, with the exception of entrepreneurs operating under the patent. "The state does not offer additional burdens, except that you have to pay these taxes”, - said E. Dosayev.
As for the details and mechanisms of possible changes to VAT, then, as the minister said, the details will be discussed next Friday at a meeting of members of the Government of Kazakhstan with representatives of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken".
