From now on, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands intend to work together in this direction

The agreement was reached at NCE during a workshop on the implementation of standards of corporate social responsibility and human rights.

The chief guest of the meeting - Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for Human Rights Case Van Bar said that "today, in times of global crisis, the unit of social business will provide the basis for sustainable development".

During the meeting Deputy Chairman of the NCE RK "Atameken" Nurzhan Altaev briefed the foreign diplomats on Kazakhstani business and its principles.

"Business of Kazakhstan understands today that in the context of WTO accession and within the EAEU, we can compete only under the condition of socially responsible business. When a business adequately invests in human capital development, when it starts to work on the creation of appropriate conditions for their own personnel, then it is the basis of healthy competition", - said Nurzhan Altaev.

Since the end of last year works the concept of corporate social responsibility. Nurzhan Altaev told foreign visitors that today Kazakhstan undergoes the phase of emergence of the principles and foundations. And Dutch diplomats are involved in this process. Embassy of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan, according to N. Altayev continues to provide financial support. In 2012 - 2013 years, with the financial support of Dutch colleagues, together with the Corporate Fund "Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia" was implemented the project "Development of a unified approach in the promotion of corporate social responsibility in the Republic of Kazakhstan" and developed version of the draft national concept of social responsibility.

In response, foreign diplomats told the participants about the new understanding of social responsibility in the world. But the issues of security, stability and human rights remain the foundation.

"What is corporate responsibility? In fact, the days, when a corporate social responsibility was presented as provision of shelter or sponsoring the local football team, have passed long time ago. Now we attach great importance. In the Netherlands, for example, the public has already joined this issue. There was a case when the garment factory was closed due to the intolerable working conditions. The employees of companies with little or no pay were not able to feed themselves and their children. Then the rest of Europe have reflected and understood how much in reality worth pretty clothes", - said the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for Human Rights Case Van Bar.

The Dutch side assured that it watches the development of the social responsibility of business in Kazakhstan and is ready to support not only financially, but also to share its practical experience.
