Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan will head the Council of Heads of Chambers of member states of CIS

Yerevan hosted a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Chambers of the CIS, where the members of the Board elected the chairman of the Council of Heads of Chambers of member states of CIS – the head of the Chamber of Foreign Trade Chamber in Kazakhstan Meirbek Mazhitov. It is a significant event for Kazakhstan, since the period of Kazakhstan's chairmanship coincides with the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

"I express my gratitude for the trust to lead the Council of Heads of Chambers of the CIS. I want to note that the presidents of our countries have provided all kinds of effective mechanisms and dialogue platforms for mutual cooperation and our mission is to implement the set strategic objectives", - said Meirbek Mazhitov.

For a more effective interaction, the Kazakh side proposed to hold intersessional activities with the involvement of the business community of countries in several key areas, such as large-scale information work with the business; organization and assistance in the implementation of exhibitions and fairs; organization of business missions and commercial transactions, maintenance and legal support; the development of business education, modular training courses and workshops.

"I am confident that this format will help to improve and to strengthen the business relationship between our countries that will give new impetus to an increase in joint breakthrough projects", - added the head of Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan.

Heads of Chambers discussed a wide range of issues at the meeting related to strengthening the competitiveness of goods and services of the CIS countries in the world markets.

Following the meeting, the parties unanimously decided to hold the next meeting of the heads of the chambers of the CIS member states in 2016 in Astana.
