Kazakh vegetable oil conquers the Chinese market
2 thousand tons of sunflower and rapeseed oils will be sent for export for the first time.
According to the head of the secretariat of the Committee of the food industry of NCE RK "Atameken" Erbol Eseneev, until recently, the main export of Kazakhstani vegetable oil was carried out in the form of raw materials. Chinese refiners bought rapeseeds, sunflowers, soybean and processed them, thus producing two products: oil directly, as well as oil seed coarse meal and seed cake - products from processing of oil seeds.
"Now for the first time in the history of modern Kazakhstan 2 thousand tons of oil is sent in one batch. Of course, it is much more profitable. If we talk about profitability, the oil seeds were exported before to China at an average price of 100 and 120 tenge per kilogram, the oil will be exported at a cost of 300 and 315 tenge per kilogram. We get two benefits: on the one hand, our domestic refiners receive added value from processing, that is, they sold the same product more expensively, plus they still have oil seed coarse meal cake and seed cake. This is additional revenue", - he said.
Eseneev noted that "Atameken" fully escorted the project: firstly, the Chamber organized the entry of the Chinese company "Aytszyuy" to the Kazakhstani market. "Why is this collaboration interesting? The products are purchased not by traders, but by direct retailers, that is there are no intermediaries", - he said.
Secondly, NCE organized bilateral meetings, the Chinese company has found reliable partners. Supplier of rapeseed oil - LLP “Agrimer-Astyk” (Akmola region), supplier of sunflower oil - LLP "Sei Nar" (East Kazakhstan region).
"It should be noted that in the process of organizing the supply, there emerged problems with transportation. Industrial and technological capacity of plants didn’t allow to carry out shipment in containers, as earlier shipment of vegetable oil was carried out only in railway tanks. However, Kazakhstani manufacturers have solved this problem by transformation of oil loading stations for loading special containers, flexi tanks for transportation of oil", - said Eseneev.
According to the Secretariat of the Committee of the food industry, currently in Almaty was formed and is ready to be send a train, consisting of 88 containers for a single shipment of purchased oil to China. Tentatively it will be sent on 20th of March. All organizational issues are solved with the help of NCE.
In addition, Eseneev said that the company "Aytszyuy" signed a contract for the supply of Kazakh confectionery products with LLP "Almaty product". Products have already been delivered, they are successfully sold and very popular among Chinese consumers.
"The Chinese are interested in import of our oil, because their oil consumption market is growing, and Kazakh production is distinguished by its taste, naturalness and environmental friendliness", - he stressed.
In addition, according to the representative of the Chamber, the Chinese company is interested in the organization of its own production in Kazakhstan. In particular, this year they plan to start construction of a rapeseed oil plant in North Kazakhstan region with the subsequent realization of finished products in China. The design capacity of the plant in a year is 36 thousand tons of oil and 25 thousand tons of seed cake.
"What is our product interesting for China? Given the fact that our oil is environmentally friendly and natural, the Chinese partners have the opportunity to sell 10-15% more expensively, as a premium class product", - said Eseneev.
