Ust-Kamenogorsk is preparing to host 5th Kazakhstani International Forum of Poultry Farmers
This year the forum will bring together over 240 participants from 21 countries. In particular, the suppliers of breeding birds, equipment and other products for poultry. Thus, the Kazakh companies will be able to choose a reliable partner that will supply quality products.
In an exclusive interview to palata.kz, the president of the Union of Poultry Breeders Ruslan Sharipov told about some of the intermediate results in the industry and announced some of the topics of the upcoming forum.
According to him, the forum will be held for the fifth time, it is timed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of JSC "Ust-Kamenogorsk Poultry Plant". "Today it is a successful modern enterprise for production and processing of broiler meat with a capacity of 25 thousand tons per year. Once I was a witness to this event. In 2015, 145 thousand tons of poultry meat was produced in Kazakhstan, the demand in the country is only 250-300 thousand tons of meat. Last year, 4.8 billion eggs were produced, this volume is completely sufficient for the domestic market. Excessive egg are exported from Kazakhstan", - said Sharipov.
The head of the Union of Poultry Farmers said that domestic products are exported to Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and began to send small batches already to UAE, Mongolia, Afghanistan. "Will increase the production of poultry meat - after construction 3-4 large poultry farms. In Akmola region in the near future will work Broiler poultry farm for 60 thousand tons of live weight. The first phase is scheduled for late 2017. In 2-3 years we will fully supply the country with poultry and will start to export it", - said with optimism the President of the Union of Poultry Farmers of Kazakhstan.
In general, according to him, the industry's state is quite good, but there are problems. "In connection with the devaluation of the tenge. We still purchase equipment, poultry, vaccines, medicines, vitamins abroad in foreign currency. The exception is corn. Everything that we buy has risen in price two or three times", - complains Ruslan Sharipov.
According to him, it is too early to talk about import substitution, that is, for example, to breed the same breeder here in Kazakhstan.
"This will require a certain time. At the same time, I note that, for example, in Shymkent opened a small factory for the production of equipment for laying hens and broilers, the release has already begun. But it is a small plant", - said Sharipov.
