Chairman of the Board of NCE proposed to rank state bodies that create barriers in mutual trade of Kazakhstan and Russia

"The barriers were, and still remain. I think we have time to compile a road map for elimination of these barriers. (...) I propose to introduce a ranking of the most vicious and inventful bodies", - he said.

Myrzakhmetov noted that today information is the most valuable thing that needs businessmen on both sides, so the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs will build the work on this part.

In addition, the Chairman of NCE informed the participants of the meeting about such instrument of the Chamber as a regional map of development of business. "Since summer we had more than 200 thousand visitors to web-page of the map. It is encouraging that out 17 thousand of overseas visitors about 10 thousand are Russians", - he said.

"We set ourselves the task within a year to get away from the human support and to provide all services in the form of mobile applications, including the Institute of Business Ombudsman", - added Myrzakhmetov.

From the Russian side a greeting word was given to the president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin. He agreed with his Kazakh counterpart, it's time to change our approach to the issue of barriers. "We need to talk more in detail about how to tackle existing barriers and obstacles. We need to focus efforts not on their discussion, but on their removal. We have today the directive of the Ministry of Economic Development that the chairmen of the boards of the Business Council will be the deputy heads of the intergovernmental commission. We hope that this will enable our managers more seriously pose the question to the Government that offers the business community", - said the head of the Russian Chamber of Commerce.

According to Katyrin, most recently in Russia there has been a growth of Kazakhstan's participation in various business acquisitions, including fixed assets. "I understand what it says about that, and the business is getting stronger, and more opportunities appear for private capital, including for investments in the Russian Federation", - he added.

The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan, co-chairman of the Kazakh part of KRBC Ayan Erenov also made a speech at the meeting. He voiced some figures describing the relationship between the two countries. "The border region is home to more than 30% of Kazakhstan's population and 19% of the population of the Russian Federation - it is about 32 million people. The total GDP of the borderland exceeds 300 billion USD. That is a relatively small number of people, but fairly high concentration of business and relationships. The analysis shows that the foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan as a whole during this period amounted to about 28 billion USD. But in spite of a considerable amount, it should be stated that there was a decline of about 30% compared with the previous year. For many reasons the export of Kazakhstani products to the Russian Federation has dropped significantly”, - stated the expert.

Erenov also spoke about the work of KRBC, which was held after the last meeting in September last year in Sochi. "There has been conducted work on the establishment of direct contacts. It conducted about 17 trade missions, 8 of them in Russia and 9 in Kazakhstan. About 260 Kazakh companies were involved in it, which went to Russia and signed a significant number of contracts worth about 2.8 billion tenge”, - he said.

Director General of JSC "Russian export center" Peter Fradkov, in turn, informed the participants about the achievements. "Russian export hub supported in Kazakhstan about 150 projects totaling 800 million USD. The plan includes about 60-70 projects amounting to 300 million USD. We have created in Kazakhstan the Trading House of Russian export center, which is popular among Russian exporters and partners in Kazakhstan. We provide them with a platform for cooperation. Here we need to establish tighter cooperation of NCE "Atameken", the business environment, the development institutions for support of the joint ventures", - he said.
