Fish farm is developing in Uighur district
LLP “Tengry Fish” – is one of the most unique enterprises not only in the district, but also in the region. It is engaged in cultivation of freshwater aquaculture. Construction of the fishery began in April last year. In October, a partnership has already begun its work. The fishery breeds fish family - cichlidae (tilapia) and African catfish (airbreathing catfish). This is quite new kind of business for the region. The project aims at solving the problem of providing high-quality, environmentally friendly domestic products at a lower price for the population of Almaty and other regions of Kazakhstan. Management of LLP believes that it is an innovative project for the fishing industry of the country, where there is no farm of the kind.
According to Managing Director Yalkun Yunusov, since last year more than 100 thousand was delivered to the fish shop. Even today, there are the first results. The company started to supply products to restaurants and networks of shops.
"We brought the first batch of fish from Tyumen, now we supply it from Thailand. The finished product is considered a fish of 200 to 350 grams. We started sale in March-April of this year. Generally, it is necessary to grow fish for 8-9 months, and only then it can be traded. Currently, we sell about 100 kg of fish per week", - said Y. Yunusov.
The company has all the modern facilities for fish breeding. Thanks to the hot springs in the depths of the Uighur district there is no need to heat water, which saves electricity.
10 people take care of the fish now. But with the development, the enterprise needs a competent ichthyologist for the fish family cichlidae. It turns out that there are no experts in the region.
"Selection of feed is important for the fishing industry. Unfortunately, due to the poor quality of domestic feed, the fish dies. Currently, we use foreign-made feed. Therefore, we plan to build a preparation center at the enterprise", - shared the managing director.
So, in the near future LLP plans to increase production capacity up to 300 tons per year and to start processing fish.
