Even more microloans for agrarians
Agricultural producers will be able to expand significantly their production volumes
The volume of microloans for rural producers may increase almost three times. This was announced today during the governmental hour in Mazhilis by the Minister of Health and Social Development of Kazakhstan Tamara Duysenova. Detailing the forthcoming microcredit innovation in an interview to palata.kz, the Minister recalled that in the framework of the "Road Map of Employment" in 2016 the maximum size of micro-credit is 6 million tenge. Such loans are now available in pilot mode in five regions - Almaty, Zhambyl, South Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda and Aktobe regions. "Now, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, we are working on the issue in the framework of the program on development of agriculture to provide a possibility for farmers to take loans up to16 million tenge with maturity for up to 7 years if they cooperate in the agricultural associations or will create a small-scale production on the basis of their private farms", - added the Minister.
In general, according to the Minister of Health and Social Development, this year 30.8 billion tenge are provided for microloans".
"The practice of previous years shows that, in general, participants in the program used microcredits in agriculture for 79%, in particular, on animal husbandry, as it is the most intuitive and affordable business for the villagers. So this year we have increased the size of micro-credit up to 6 million tenge to stimulate the association in the agricultural cooperatives and the creation of small-scale production on the basis of such personal farms", - noted Tamara Duysenova.
The Government hopes that the cooperation will help to "solve issues of the feed and marketing of products, to provide productive employment, and thus create more jobs for the villagers". "10 billion tenge of the total amount is allocated for these purposes", - added the Minister.
It is planned that 9 thousand Kazakhstani residents will be able to receive microloans this year, including entrepreneurs who thereby create additional 12 thousand jobs. According to the Ministry of Health and Social Development, 6,834 micro-credits have been issued, 89% of which are in agriculture.
In addition, the emergence of new entrepreneurs from among the self-employed and unemployed people continues, which can also get micro-loans on concessional terms.
