According to palata.kz, there are 35 large and mini poultry farms now in the territory of the region, where grow 2 million 638 thousand of poultry. In 2016, production amounted to 300 million pieces of eggs and 12.1 thousand tons of poultry meat. Leaders in this market are LLP "Ordabasy Kus", which grows 648,276 turkeys, LLP "Infrastroi Ltd" with 250 thousand broilers , and LLP "Shymkent kus" - 646 900 birds.
The new goal of Poultry Breeders of SKR – is to reduce imports and to achieve the full possible supply of population with local products. To do this, in rural areas and towns of the region will be opened 78 mini poultry farms, the program will last until 2020.
According to the akimat of South Kazakhstan region, the current level of provision of southerners with poultry meat is 73.7%, and eggs - 75%. The state subsidies of 2 billion 29 million 246 thousand tenge really helped poultry farmers in 2016. Of this, 1 billion 471 million 440 thousand tenge were allocated to increase the production of turkey meat and 132 million 499 thousand tenge - to increase production of broiler meat. According to the akimat of South Kazakhstan region, in a new, 2017 for further development of the sphere of poultry farming subsidies are expected to amount about 2 billion 30 million tenge.
