What is allowed for transportation under the Carnet ATA system?
Carnet ATA allows duty-free import and identification of temporarily imported goods
The ATA system is used in Kazakhstan from 1st of April 2017.
ATA Carnet is a standard international customs document that allows you to import, in a simplified manner, as well as to identify temporarily imported goods and including a financial guarantee in effect in the international circulation for payment of import customs duties, taxes and fees.
Carnet ATA saves time and money of customs and exporters, improves reliable and safe movement of goods across borders.
According to the Carnet ATA, it is allowed to move an extensive list of goods, including:
- Commercial samples: jewelry, watches, leather goods, etc.;
- Goods for fairs and exhibitions, exhibition booths / stands, etc.;
- Antiquities, paintings and other works of art;
Professional equipment: media, sound and broadcasting television, cinematographic equipment, musical instruments, costumes, theatrical equipment, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, engineering equipment, surgical equipment, equipment for archaeologists, zoologists, entertainers, lecturers, athletes, etc.
Perishable, consumed goods, goods for processing and repair are not moved via Carnet ATA. Carnet is issued by the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan.
