Serious changes expect sphere of trade - Nurzhan Altaev
The largest Summit “Retail Business Kazakhstan-2017” was launched in Almaty
This year the Summit is held in special conditions, connected with serious challenges and high competition with the colleagues of the EAEU. It's time for new approaches in the service, product offers and increase of the competitive advantage.
"Trade needs incentives for further improvement. Atameken analyzed the level of development of trade infrastructure in some countries. According to its results, domestic trade today lags not only from the leading countries, but even from the partners in the Customs Union. The lag is almost in accordance with all the criteria", - Nurzhan Altayev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of NCE RK Atameken, said during the opening of the Summit.
As the speaker notes, today the commercial sphere and retail are on the verge of big changes. First of all, under the influence of technology.
"As an example, since the end of 2014, Walmart shares have fallen in price by 21%, while Amazon shares have risen in price by 119%. The dispute between the electronic and traditional retail technologies is winning", - said Nurzhan Altayev.
With the need to improve the trading sector, agreed the largest retailer in Kazakhstan, the general director of the trading network Magnum Cash & Carry Alexander Garber.
"The scope of trade is regulated by the law of 2004, which is substantially outdated, and today serious measures are required. And not only from the state, the market participants themselves should be involved. Today's event brought together both key players in the industry and government representatives. The subjects of trade need financial support and not only", - added Alexander Garber.
In addition, among the support measures, it is possible to add the provision of grants - land plots for the construction of new trade facilities, envisaged by akimats in the implementation of housing construction programs.
As it was noted by Nurzhan Altaev, the announced proposals will be officially sent for further discussion to the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"In October 2016, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan met with representatives of companies and associations of the trade sector. The agenda was the issue of the need to develop a program for the development and support of trade. Today's proposals "Atameken" and business will analyze and send to the Ministry of Economy", - said Nurzhan Altaev.
During the Summit, the Agreement on Cooperation was signed between NCE Atameken and the Union of Trade Networks of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
