Bakytzhan Sagintayev opened the forum "Eurasian Week"
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan participated in the plenary session of the forum "Eurasian Week". Participants of the event discussed various approaches to industrial improvement: from modern aspects of the formation of development models to the introduction of advanced innovative technologies.
"The scale of the event allows not only to strengthen close cooperation between the public sector and the business community, but allows further strengthen integration processes. For example, Kazakhstan is represented by about 80 export-oriented companies in various industries. This will help our countries to develop new mutually beneficial contacts. Already today, more than 8,000 joint ventures with the EAEU countries work stably in Kazakhstan. I think that this is a good indicator, support of the country’s integration by entrepreneurs. We will be glad to further expand this list of enterprises", - Bakytzhan Sagintayev said.
The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan noted that in the first quarter of 2017 the volume of Kazakhstan's foreign trade increased by 28%.
"With a view to removing barriers, negotiations are underway on a free trade zone with Israel, Serbia and Iran. Today, there are 130 joint projects with the EAEU in various areas, such as space, ecology, agriculture and so on. This helps to unite the efforts of business, public sector and science. The main purpose of the Forum is to discuss topical economic issues. We hope for constructiveness and achievement of positive results", - Bakytzhan Sagintayev emphasized.
Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan congratulated everyone on the beginning of the "Eurasian Week".
"It is very important that we are able to combine everything. Thanks to EXPO, attention to our event is higher. For some indicators, we have barriers, restrictions that have been reflected in the scanning of our common markets. First, we need to come to an agreement that these barriers exist. After that, develop a roadmap to remove these barriers. Concerning the limitation of about 60 issues, there are already discussions within the Council. We are a very young organization, we need to go through a long joint path", - Tigran Sargsyan said.
Tigran Sargsyan added that the emergence of digital systems can lead to the creation of additional barriers. If, Kazakhstan will present its digital system separately, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Belarus separately, then representatives of business will have many problems.
"We need to try to activate this transformation together, agree on what standards we will apply. Initially negotiate so that it would not be uncomfortable for business. We are negotiating the creation of an agreement on free trade zones with Iran, Israel, India and Serbia. Also, about 50 countries want to cooperate with us on the basis of memorandums. The task for the next 5 years to deepen integration", - the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission said.
