Atameken and AIFC are strategic partners
The parties unite efforts to bring Kazakhstan's business to the level of international standards
Today, the Chairman of the Presidium of NCE RK "Atameken" Timur Kulibayev and the Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Kairat Kelimbetov signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken" and AIFC. As it was noted at the meeting, the establishment of the IFC is an important stage of structural reforms aimed at economic diversification, economic growth and assistance in the formation of the modern financial system of the country. For these purposes, the Constitution of Kazakhstan has been amended accordingly. The other day President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the International Financial Center "Astana" will work right after the exhibition EXPO-2017. On the basis of AIFC, it is planned to create an independent court based on the principles of English law and standards of the world's leading financial centers. The presence of an independent court will facilitate the creation of an attractive legal environment for investors, providing tools for effective protection of the rights and interests of the participants of the AIFC. "For four years of work" Atameken "among the leading applications of entrepreneurs - litigation. These are systemic issues that require a comprehensive solution. And we are going to implement in our legal field the best practice based on English law. Many issues can be solved in a pre-trial order. Arbitration is applied in practice in all developed countries, this practice will be implemented in our country. For Atameken, as a representative of the protection of business interests, this is extremely important. In general, the cooperation between the National Councils and the IFC is focused on improving the quality of the investment climate in the country", - Timur Kulibayev said. He also added that the creation and operation of the financial center means for the business to raise standards of corporate governance. This applies not only to those companies that themselves go to international exchanges in Singapore, New York, Hong Kong, but also companies that have passed the listing procedure.
In turn, Kayrat Kelimbetov noted that the initiative on privatization of the largest national companies announced by the Head of State is a unique chance for the development of the domestic stock market, will have a positive effect on domestic companies, will create for them an additional investment attractiveness.
Also, in the near future, within the framework of the AIFC, a new stock exchange is planned to be created with securities placed on it by the most attractive companies of Samruk-Kazyna and other Kazakh companies.
In conclusion, Kayrat Kelimbetov stressed that Atameken is the key partner for AIFC on all issues related to the development of entrepreneurship. The parties stated that they intend to undertake further joint efforts to develop the country's financial industry.
