I hereby congratulate you on the Day of Oil and Gas Complex Workers of Kazakhstan!
The professional holiday, which we traditionally celebrate on the first Sunday of September, is marked by the 120th anniversary of Kazakhstan's oil this year.
The history of the oil and gas industry of our country is full of bright pages. The first oil in Kazakhstan was produced at the Karashungul structure in 1899. It is the heroic work of the Emba oil workers during the Great Patriotic War, the development of the oil virgin lands in Mangyshlak in the 1960s, the discovery and commissioning of the largest fields: Kashagan, Tengiz, and Karachaganak. In just two decades since gaining sovereignty, Kazakhstan has become one of the 15 largest oil exporters in the world.
These professional victories are an integral part of the biography of thousands of industry workers who have passed through severe tests and invested their energy and knowledge in the development of the oil and gas industry, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the Kazakhstani economy and the sovereignty of our country.
