Atameken and USAID discuss business opportunities in Kazakhstan
The Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and USAID have discussed the projects and business opportunities for entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan.
The USAID Entrepreneurship and Business Environment Development Project aims to support the development of economic sectors in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. The project implementation period is October 2019 - September 2024.
Erbol Ustemirov, Managing Director of the Department of Public Monitoring and Work with Administrative Barriers, noted that the project aims to support enterprises in Central Asia, including Kazakhstan. The participation in it will allow entrepreneurs to increase competitiveness, improve the skills of employees through training.
According to the project representatives, the result of such interaction, in addition to competitiveness, will be the growth of productivity of enterprises and private companies, as well as the creation of new jobs.
USAID Project Manager for Entrepreneurship and Business Environment Development Fillip Myroslavov told about the project in more detail.
"In Kazakhstan, the project will work in the following sectors: communication and information technology, light industry, food processing, and tourism. The program will help to remove barriers that hinder the economic growth of enterprises, develop competitiveness, and trade by changing legislative norms, interacting with business representatives, providing consulting services, and training entrepreneurs, including women and youth," Fillip Miroslavov said.
Thus, the main goal of the project is to assist in the development of entrepreneurship, improvement of legislation and environment for investment and trade.
USAID is implementing the project in three components. The first component is to improve the competitiveness of companies by expanding their target markets. The second one is to create new jobs, and the third component is to improve the business environment by studying global practices.
"I believe there will be fruitful cooperation in all three components to improve the business environment. This will help to more effectively drive the reforms that we are currently implementing together with government agencies, including the solution of systemic business problems," Erbol Ustemirov said.
