Kazakhstan secured itself and made fuel reserves for the future, the shortage of gasoline at patrol stations is not expected.

This statement was made by Energy Minister Vladimir Shkolnik at a briefing at the Service of Central Communications. "In August, we were afraid that there will be a deficit, that is why we brought into the country 74 thousand tons, recently we have delivered 41 thousand tons, and now our reserves are 214 thousand tons", - said the minister.

Comparing the current picture with the last year, Shkolnik noted that in 2014 stocks of petroleum products amounted to 90 thousand tons.

"Therefore, we have enough stocks of 92-octane gasoline", - assured the Minister of Energy.

Shkolnik also reminded that the Government let gasoline prices for AI-92 free float in order to avoid the deficit. According to the minister, in Russia A-92 is 143 tenge per liter today, in Kazakhstan on average 125 tenge per liter. "Given the fact that we buy it there at wholesale prices, they are lower and there is no relevant taxes from the Russian Federation, we impose only our taxes - excise duties, so now it is profitable to bring it in", - said the head of the Ministry of Energy.

Minister advised to gasoline pessimists to do arithmetics, adding that, based on the US currency, Kazakhstan has the cheapest gasoline in the CIS.

"Take, and divide it: last year - 128 tenge (for a liter of AI-92-Ed.) price and the exchange rate (tenge to the dollar) 150, gasoline cost in dollars 80 cents per liter. Now - the price of AI-92 is 125 (tenge per liter) divided into 270 (rate of tenge to the dollar), you get 40 cents. It is cheaper in dollars", - said the Minister. At the same time Vladimir Sergeyevich abstained from making a prediction about the future price dynamics, arguing that "it all depends on what will be the rate of the ruble, and the rate of the tenge against the US dollar".

"Give me this information and I'll tell you what will happen with gasoline", - concluded the Minister.
