The Kazakh Government announced another large-scale privatization
Officials promise to form a new list of privatization for larger objects, such giants of the Kazakh economy, as the state fund "Samruk-Kazyna", holding "Baiterek" and "KazAgro". The priority list will include 60 companies; this was announced today at the briefing by First Deputy Prime Minister Bakhytzhan Sagintayev. He called the new list - the top 60. From "SK" – 38, from "Baiterek" – 4, from "KazAgro" - 4, and 14 objects that are objects of the republican property. It is also proposed to transfer to the competitive environment other companies owned by the Fund "Samruk-Kazyna", - said Sagintayev.
Strategic investors will be able to get the most large assets. Mr. Sagintayev did not elaborate on who can receive the fatty fraction of the privatization pie. But he called the upcoming auction methods: direct sales or output to the stock market through the mechanisms of IPO and SPIO. The access by January 1, 2018 at the site of the international financial center "Astana" is not excluded.
Other companies will be sold at auction through direct sales - if they already have private investors. The enterprises where the state's share is 100%, will be on display for privatization of controlling and blocking stakes - from 25% to 50% plus one share or more.
"Meanwhile, the companies, where there is a private investor, their share will be increased to 50% plus one share", - said Deputy Prime Minister.
