The Government of Kazakhstan has approved a new privatization plan
On 25th of December the Government of Kazakhstan has approved the comprehensive privatization plan for 2016-2020, under which was approved the list of objects of privatization of public and quasi-public sector, consisting of 65 largest companies of the Republican property: NWF "Samruk-Kazyna", JSC “Baiterek”, JSC "KazAgro". This was reported today by the Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Erbolat Dosayev during the governmental hour in Mazhilis.
The Government also approved a list of subsidiaries and affiliates, that are members of the NWF "Samruk-Kazyna", that is 173 companies, and has approved an updated list of the existing objects transferred to the competitive environment as a result of privatization, PPP, liquidation, which consists of 645 organizations, including 46 organizations of the republican property, 367 enterprises of communal property, 129 subsidiaries, affiliates of national managing holdings, national holdings, national companies, with the exception of "Samruk-Kazyna".
In addition, E. Dosayev reported that in the first quarter of 2016 will be reduced list of objects that are not subject to alienation, and will be developed a draft law providing for the abolition of the preferential rights of shareholders to acquire all of the assets disposed of quasi-public sector. In January 2016 the Government of Kazakhstan will set up a special project office with the assistance of international consultants for the maintenance and monitoring of the privatization process, and develop a plan for a large-scale PR-campaign for the privatization, including the objects of "Samruk-Kazyna", "KazAgro", "Baiterek" with a detailed description of the purpose of each particular company within the framework of a unified information policy.
