Mining, tourism and the export of agrarian products, the development of transport and logistics sphere, participation in EXPO - these topics were discussed among the first during the official visit of the President of Iran Hassan Rouhani to Kazakhstan.
"Firstly, the joint development of the huge potential of the two countries is in transit and logistics sector. The railway "Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran" has become an efficient transport communication system in the region, giving access to the Gulf countries and the opportunity to build trade relations with them", - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev announced the reached agreements at a joint briefing.
Furthermore, they started joint construction of grain terminals and logistics containers. Today Iranian companies implement agricultural projects worth 480 million USD. "We are ready to export, not only grain, but also other agricultural products - sunflower oil, rapeseed", - added the head of state.
The start of joint development of deposits of copper in the Karaganda region is called as a priority as well. The Iranian side is also interested in participation in geological research works on the territory of Kazakhstan, which is also supported by the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
There was reached an agreement on the opening of a direct flight "Astana-Tehran". Evaluating the efficiency of already existing route "Almaty-Tehran", Nursultan Nazarbayev said that its workload is 65%, the flights are performed three times a week. Tehran will take part in the exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana and will present its achievements in the field of alternative energy. Iran has also sought to cooperate in the framework of the EAEU, SCO, and, in turn, "Kazakhstan is ready to "support" it.
"Now when the sanctions are lifted (author - Iran), our relations will strengthen, economic ties will expand. We are ready to provide support in every possible way", - said the President of Kazakhstan.
By the results of the visit of the President of Iran, of the Governments of the two countries agreed to cooperate in the field of maritime merchant shipping.
Signatures were put in the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Health and Social Development of RK and the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Security of Iran on cooperation in the field of labor and social security. There was also signed a memorandum of understanding between the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the Central Bank of Iran to assist in the organization of bilateral trade. The Ministry for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan and the Organization of Applied Arts and Tourism agreed to simplify the mutual group tourist trips.
