The owners of trucks were misled
Car owners were obliged to receive special permits for trucks
Entrepreneurs, who own trucks "Peterbil t387", "MAN-2000", and "Volvo-12" addressed to the Chamber of entrepreneurs of Akmola region. They were confused by the order of the Ministry of Investment and Development "On approval of permissible parameters of vehicles intended for movement along the roads of the Republic of Kazakhstan". In particular, the document has been amended to introduce a limit on the length of road trains.
Employees of the regional inspection of transport control, where truck owners applied for clarifications, considered that their trucks belong to the category of road trains consisting of a tractor and a semi-trailer with a total length of 16.5 meters (in the order there is a corresponding classification of trucks). Meanwhile, the applicants' trucks are 19.5 meters long. Then the transport inspection recommended to receive supporting documents, to provide conclusions of independent expert groups and even insert in the technical passport information that their cars are road trains.
The experts of RCE, having received this appeal, quickly gathered a round table with the participation of interested parties, and also sent a request to the relevant department. The answer came fast. The point in this dispute was the answer of the Vice-Minister for Investments and Development. Roman Sklyar explained very clearly that for a road train, according to the design and purpose of a large-sized and (or) heavy cargo intended for transportation, a permissible length is 20 meters.
