Pharmaceutical plants of the Republic of Kazakhstan are rapidly increasing their capacity
In order to support pharmaceutical domestic production, LLP SK-Pharmacy concludes long-term contracts for the implementation of investment projects. Every year, the implementation of investment projects is evaluated by a commission consisting of representatives of the public and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of RK Atameken. During the current inspection, which was launched on 5th of April this year, it is planned to visit 12 investment projects of pharmaceutical production, including JSC "Khimpharm", JSC "Nobel AFF", LLP “KazDiatest", LLP "KFK Medservis Plus", LLP "Abdi Ibrahim Global Pharm", LLP "KelunKazpharm", LLP "PFC Eleas", LLP "MaraiE7 Group" and others. Kazakhstan production sites of medicines comply with the GMP standard, production capacities have been modernized, advanced technologies have been introduced, and the range of products has significantly expanded. Few people know that domestic pharmaceutical plants produce more than 800 names of medicines. An example is JSC "Nobel AFF" - the first and only Kazakh producer, which carries out contract manufacturing in full cycle in the framework of cooperation with the transnational pharmaceutical company Abbott Products Operations AG. Advisor to the General Director of JSC "Nobel AFF" Svetlana Kiel presented the activities of the plant to the commission: "Since 2002, about 65 million US dollars have been invested.
As a result of the investment, new production equipment has been installed with a world-class level of automation and integration of production processes, the company ranks second in terms of market volume among Kazakhstani manufacturers, it employs about 400 people. Production facilities of the company are represented by 5 production sites, including solid, soft and liquid dosage forms. In 2016, the production of medicines amounted to 6,766,505 packs, compared to 2015, the production growth was 53.7%.
All stages of the production process undergo automatic testing, the quality of the final product is controlled in the laboratory of the company equipped with modern analytical equipment, stated Yuliya Yakupbaeva, Deputy Chairman of the Board: "Today we are looking at the new site of the plant of JSC" Nobel AFF ", which has not been launched yet, but almost all the production equipment meets advanced technologies. The practice of concluding long-term contracts in the healthcare system began to bring positive results in the implementation of import substitution programs. Much has been done thanks to the joint efforts of the state, the Single Distributor and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs: 32 long-term contracts with 19 domestic producers for the supply of 1,052 names of medicines and medical products are currently in force within the unified distribution system. There is still a lot of work ahead to expand the list of manufactured nomenclature and plan production localization”. Ziyatkhan Hasanov, director of the production site of LLP Abdi Ibrahim Global Pharm, presented an integrated production site of two pharmaceutical companies - the Turkish - Abdi Ibrahim and LLP Global Kazakhstan, at which one production unit occupies 3,000 m2 and a modern warehouse1 500 m2: "The enterprise was established as part of the policy of import substitution in the Republic of Kazakhstan in September 2000. The investments amounted to about 32 million USD, and another 30 million USD is planned. Production of tablets and capsules has been launched. And if the first consignments of medicinal preparations of the plant in April 2002 included 4 items, today the portfolio of products has increased and includes more than 100 names of medicines, these are preparations: sugar-reducing, anti-tuberculosis, antibacterial, for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases and others. The company successfully exports medicines to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
About 100 people work at the production site and about 200 people work at other sites of the enterprise. "The work on the inspection of pharmaceutical production continues further in accordance with the schedule. The enterprises: LLP Nur-May Pharmacia, LLP Sultan, LLP Pavlodar Pharmaceutical Plant, LLP Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex will also be visited. Based on the results of the inspections, the results will be announced in April of this year.
