Issues of development of the IT industry were discussed at NCE RK "Atameken"

On 28th of April 2017, a meeting was held at the site of NCE RK "Atameken" with participation of the IT community on the development of the industry.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of NCE RK "Atameken" Ablay Myrzakhmetov, the Minister of Information and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of NCE RK "Atameken" Eldar Zhumagaziev.
The Chairman of the Board of JSC "NIKH" Zerde "Assel Zhienbaeva described the measures of state support rendered to domestic IT companies. In turn, the head of the Headquarters "Digital Kazakhstan" Alibek Irgaliyev informed about the state program "Digital Kazakhstan".
More than 140 representatives of IT business from 12 regions of the country took part in the meeting. In addition to MIC RK, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the General Prosecutor's Office, JSC NIKH “Zerde” took part in it.
They discussed issues of the service model of informatization of state bodies, measures of state support of the IT industry, import substitution of foreign software, equipment.
During the discussion, they identified a number of issues that require a solution. It was decided to create working groups for the development of the state program Digital Kazakhstan, import substitution, the service model of informatization and access to informational data of state bodies.
An important element of import substitution in the IT sector should be the Register of Domestic Software and Equipment, the need of which was supported by both the minister and the business community.
The proposal of the Chairman of the Board of NCE RK "Atameken" to hold such a format of the meeting on a systematic basis was supported by all.
It is worth recalling that in order to resolve the issues of the IT community in October last year, the Council for the Development of the Startup and IT Ecosystem was established under the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken". The first meeting on the IT industry was held in March 2017 with the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Sagadiyev on IT systems in education and at this meeting the participants wished to meet with the relevant ministry (MIK RK).
