The XI Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY was held in Astana

In Astana was held the XI Eurasian forum KAZENERGY on the theme "Creating the energy of the future". This forum was included in one of the 15 key events of the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev reported on the importance of the event.

"The theme "Creating the energy of the future" is very relevant, it was proved by the discussions that took place during the forum. We support the idea of sustainable economic development, but there is also an open question of security when using new types of energy. We must not forget the importance of climate change. The future of world energy is already determined today. The presented new technologies at EXPO-2017 change the landscape of the world energy sector", - Bakytzhan Sagintayev said.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan added that Kazakhstan is in favor of unifying the effort.

"We support key UN initiatives, the Paris Climate Agreement, which Kazakhstan has already ratified. On the basis of EXPO-2017, we are deploying the work of an international green technology center and investing in the energy of the future, which will allow us to ensure cooperation with the UN and OECD countries with a view to moving to a green economy in the regions of Central Asia. Kazakhstan remains a reliable supplier of energy resources to the world community", - the Prime Minister said.

Also, a press conference was organized dedicated to the presentation of the book "Oil and Gas of Independent Kazakhstan" within the framework of the forum. The initiator of the book was the Association KAZENERGY. The editorial board was headed by Timur Kulibayev, chairman of KAZENERGY Association. The following persons joined the editorial board: the deputies of the Association Uzakbay Karabalin and Dzhambulat Sarsenov, the general director of the Association Bolat Akchulakov, the deputy general director of KTK Kairgeldy Kabyldin, the executive secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kanatbek Safinov and other professionals. In addition, analysts and experts in the oil and gas industry were involved. Kanat Bozumbaev, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stressed that Astana has become a unique platform for working out specific proposals in the field of energy development.

"All these events emphasize the seriousness of the topics discussed at the KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum. Issues of integration, provision of energy-critical energy-related innovative solutions to the renewable energy sector were discussed. The share of alternative renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan by the year 2050 should be 50%", - the Kazakh Energy Minister said.

The manager of the International Financial Center "Astana" Kayrat Kelimbetov also noted that this topic is important not only for the residents of Kazakhstan, but for the whole world.

"I want to quote the saying "A good hockey player is not one that runs where the puck is, but the one that runs where the puck will be". The President of Kazakhstan did a great thing when in 2012 he chose the "Green Economy", the principle of sustainable development. In order for us all to realize the importance of sustainable development approaches. The change in the global energy paradigm is a tremendous opportunity to attract new technologies. We also realized that Kazakhstan is a serious player in this regard. But in this respect, IFCA will play a big role, changes will be introduced to the Constitution. IFCA will provide protection for investors and access to long-term financing", - Kayrat Kelimbetov said.

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich during the forum congratulated Kazakhstan on the successful holding of the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017.

"We will learn how to conduct such events. We hope that the legacy of EXPO will become an impulse for further development. The theme "EXPO-2017" was chosen not by chance. Global challenges are directly related to how reliable and sustainable energy will be in the next 10 years. The degree of uncertainty is very high. The center of gravity is declining from the European regions to Asia and the Pacific. These factors disturb stability, as a result of a struggle for resources. Sometimes they lead to aggravation or regional conflicts", - Arkady Dvorkovich noted.

Fifth President of Iceland Olafur Ragnar stressed that the EXPO in Astana is the main message about how we can create energy for the planet. Therefore, it is important to know the history of each country.

"We switched to renewable energy sources, first, because it was a good business and an economic opportunity. Iceland receives almost 100% of electricity from renewable energy sources. We are ready to exchange our experience", - Olafur Ragnar said.

The Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates, Suheil Muhammad, began by thanking Kazakhstan for hospitality.

"We hope that you will be able to visit the Expo in Dubai by 2020. We study all forms of energy to achieve balance. I came to Kazakhstan to share the experience of the UAE in this regard. We will continue to work to maintain stability in all respects", - the Energy Minister of the United Arab Emirates said.

The participants of the press conference expressed the hope that in the future Kazakhstan, which occupies a significant place in the world oil architecture, will continue building the industry's potential in view of new challenges.
