Sochi hosted the session of the Presidium of the EAEU business Council

The tenth meeting of the Presidium of the EAEC Business Council was held at September 27, 2018 in Sochi.

Within the framework of the tenth meeting, the key issues for the business of the EAEU were considered and discussed on practical directions of economic integration, such as trade policy, coordination of transport and industrial policy, and food security.

Members of the Presidium Alexander Shokhin (from the Russian side), Arsen Kazaryan (from the Armenian side), Viktor Khristenko (President of the Business Council), authorized representatives of the coordinators of the Business Council, Alexander Panasyuk (from the Belarusian side), Yulia Yakupbayeva (from the Kazakhstani side), Alexander Murychev (from the Russian side), heads of committees of the EAEU Business Council Vladimir Basko (Chairman of the Committee on the Digital Agenda), Vladimir Salamatov (Chairman of the Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation with PRC and other priority partners), delegations from all sides of the Business Council, and Vasily Tarlev (head of the observer association of the Business Council from Moldova) attended the meeting; the Eurasian Economic Commission was represented by members of the EEC Collegium (Ministers) Alexander Subbotin and Viktor Nazarenko.

The agenda of the meeting included issues of assistance in expanding exports to foreign markets to producers from the EAEU member states. Since the lack of adequate support for export development, especially during the period of world protectionism, can lead to the restructuring of economic and production processes, both at the level of individual enterprises and at the level of countries and supranational associations.

In order to support exporters, issues of further development of the Institute of Authorized Economic Operators of the EAEU and the need to work out coordinated approaches to giving the status of an authorized operator to domestic producers of the EAEU countries were discussed.

Concerning the international activities of the Union, the meeting discussed issues on sectoral cooperation within the framework of the Agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU and the People's Republic of China, as well as the participation of the business communities of the Union in the third annual "Eurasian Week" International Forum in Yerevan (22-23 October 2018).

The Subcommittee on Metal Industry and Mining of the RUIE Committee on International Cooperation made an initiative to open a sectoral dialogue with the People's Republic of China in the field of metallurgy.

The parties agreed to develop cooperation and consider the possibility of opening other sectoral dialogues, for example, in such areas as agriculture, food products, wood processing, pharmaceuticals, auto components production and others.

Along with this, during the meeting the problematic issues of transit, marking and traceability in the EAEU were discussed, which were reported to the representatives of the Commission.

Business representatives spoke business associations - members of the EAEU Business Council and other interested business communities of the member states of the Union about the need to work out the issues of improving the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union for successful implementation the projects of the union on digital trade, also noting the formation of a coordinated position of the EAEC business on marking and traceability of goods, digital transport corridors and a unified transit system to ensure the legal turnover of goods at the domestic market of EAEU.

The meeting also adopted decisions on the approval of candidates nominated by the Parties of the EAEU Business Council for rewarding with the "Honorary Sign of the Business Council of the Eurasian Economic Union" for their contribution and active participation in the development of the Eurasian integration and cooperation with the Commission.
