“SYRYM” BORDER CHECKPOINT WORKS IN FORMER MODE
This was reported by the. Director of the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the West Kazakhstan Region Yerbol Idenov after his visit to the checkpoint.
Recall that since October 22 at the "Syrym" checkpoint of the Kazakh-Russian border, there are hundreds of trucks waiting to pass. The peak of traffic accumulation fell on October 29.
On the same day, representatives of the NCE RK Atameken of the West Kazakhstan region left for the site as part of a special monitoring group in order to stabilize the situation, which could entail losses for entrepreneurs - carriers of perishable goods and related breaches of contractual obligations and, as a result, reputational risks. The drivers said that they had to stand idle for more than 24 hours while waiting.
Earlier it was reported that the reason for the traffic jam was the entry into force of the order of the Ministry of Finance and the Border Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On monitoring of goods and cargo within the EAEU". This law is aimed at combating unscrupulous entrepreneurs. According to Almas Abzhapparov, head of the SRC of the West Kazakhstan region, the verification procedure takes about two minutes. According to the state agency, this problem has a seasonal nature.
On October 29, a round table on problematic issues of the "Syrym" border checkpoint was held in the regional maslikhat of WKR. The meeting participants made proposals on the digitization of the customs control procedure in order to reduce its time and eliminate possible corruption risks.
