President of Kazakhstan declared a moratorium on a number of provisions of the Land Code
Nursultan Nazarbayev imposed a moratorium on certain rules of the Land Code
"We had to bring to the people’ notice, that we imply any sale of land, especially agricultural land. Therefore, it is ungrounded speculation. That is we did not bring this message clearly to the relevant target groups", - said Nursultan Nazarbayev, speaking at a meeting in Akorda.
However, as it was noted by the Leader of the Nation, mechanisms and standards of the adopted law haven’t been properly discussed extensively with the public, anxiety and worries of people are justified in many respects.
"If people of Kazakhstan, do not understand and do not trust to the adopted, then it is wrong. We're doing it for people. That is, the society has doubts about certain legislative provisions in this matter. Therefore, I accept the decision today: a number of rules which have caused a resonance in the society, in particular, the four rules adopted last year, we impose moratorium on their introduction until next year. First, we must carefully examine, analyze, explain it to the people, together with the Parliament to decide on it. If you come to a common opinion, we will cancel the moratorium, if not, it will be on", - concluded the head of state.
