Atameken is looking for business coaches for Bastau project

Atameken announces the expansion of the group of business coaches of the Bastau project for training in the basics of entrepreneurship.

Basic candidate requirements:

  • Aged 26 or older

·       Experience in launching and supporting start-up business projects, preferably in rural areas;

  • Basic knowledge of business planning, financial modeling, marketing, market research, agrarian competence, taxation, and state business regulations
  • Experience working with novice entrepreneurs, the ability to work in groups with 15-70 people, and individually,

·       Knowledge of measures of state support for SMEs, including measures of financial support for start-up entrepreneurs;

·       Understanding the specifics of the rural market and the main types of businesses, and mapping the local supply chains;

·        high communication competence, including mentoring and coaching skills, ability to build "feedback" with students, PR-promotion;

· the ability to work in a team with the regional chambers of entrepreneurs and interact with government agencies and project partners. 

We expect from you:

·       professional approach, full immersion in the project;

·        active position and interest in SME development in rural areas;

·       willingness to share your knowledge and experience, as well as to constantly develop the competencies while working;

·       permanent residence in the place of training (district center, village), taking into account short breaks between the streams.

Also, the candidate should:

·       submit at least one recommendation, which will indicate that the candidate is ready to work with the population in the form of a business trainer

·       write an essay "Why do I want to be a Bastau project business coach?" in Kazakh or Russian (at the option).

A transparent system of business coaches selection includes several stages:

Stage 1 - sending a resume and motivational essay;

Stage 2 - performing a practical task to define competencies in business planning and financial modeling;

Stage 3 - an invitation to participate in a 5-day training for coaches/confirmation of professional competences through testing (after successful completion of the previous stage);

Stage 4- personnel reserve entry

Stage 5 - an invitation to the project

Bastau is a training project launched in 2017 under the Program of productive employment and mass entrepreneurship development in 80 districts of Kazakhstan, it will cover 160 districts from 2018 to 2021.

In 2018, 28.5 thousand Kazakhstani citizens were trained under the project. As a result, over 7,000 trainees have already been able to start their businesses. The plan for the year has been fulfilled by 100%, and the West Kazakhstan and Karaganda regions have exceeded the plan by 160%.

The project aims to increase the level of employment of unemployed and self-employed people in the regions of Kazakhstan through practical training in the basics of entrepreneurship, support, and maintenance of start-up business initiatives.
